Iconic Christmas ads Part 3
The Charles Co. no longer exists on Bluffton’s Main Street. But, in 1959 it offered a large selection of family clothing options for Christmas shoppers.
The business was located in what is today a portion of Citizens National Bank. When The Charles Co. closed, Millager’s Pharmacy expanded into its storefront. The large building was razed when Citizens expanded.
Among its 1959 Christmas values included:
• Nylon slips, $3.99
• Men’s flannel robes, $3.99
• Leotard tights for the kiddies, $1.99
• Ladies gowns, $3.99
• Dan River sheet and pillow case sets, $6.99 and $8.99
• Spring cotton dresses, $5.99
