Guess who came to dinner

It's Carma Theatre week on Bluffton Forever.

To view yesterday’s feature “A New Leaf” from 1971 CLICK HERE.

Today we approach the theatre from four years earlier than yesterday and we've parked our V-8 gas hog across the street near Ernsberger's Jeweler.

And it's December, because you can see the light pole decorated for Christmas. Looks as if we've made several downtown holiday lighting changes since 1967.

Today’s feature, “Guess who’s coming to dinner,” a 1967 romantic comedy with Spencer Tracy, Sidney Poitier, Katharine Hepburn and Katharine Houghton. It’s in color, with shows at 7 and 9 p.m.

This film won two Academy Awards; one for Ms. Hepburn for best actress in a leading role and William Rose for best writing and screenplay.

On the southside of the theatre is the Bluffton A&P. That stands for Atlantic and Pacific Tea Co., in case you wonder. Leiber’s Jewelry store is next down the street.

Looks like a 1965 Buick parked in front with perhaps a 1963 Chevy truck behind it and maybe a 1952 Plymouth or Dodge next in line.

DO YOU HAVE A PHOTO OF THE OUTSIDE OF THE CARMA THEATRE? SEND IT TO fsteiner@roadrunner.com. We'd love to post it.
