Can you imagine draining the National Quarry? The result would surprise you as its depth is a challenge to fathom.
While the quarry may never be drained in our lifetime, here’s a look at it while was an active stone quarry. The quarry closed in 1929 and slowly filled over the next 10 years as pumping was halted.
