Paul Diller took this color slide photo of Nickel Plate Road 718 steam locomotive hauling fast freight through Bluffton in the mid-1950s.
The smoke stack in the background is the former Woodcock power plant located where the NKP crossed the AC&Y. The freight is headed eastbound toward Findlay.
718 was an S-1 Class 2-8-4 Berkshire built by the Lima Locomotive Works in June, 1942.
