Here's an interesting publicity page from an Akron, Canton and Youngstown Railroad brochure.
It shows several railroad freight and locomotives that were once a familiar daily visitor to Bluffton.
The heading in red reads "The Road of Service," which was the AC&Y's motto. In the photo are: • Diesel-electric locomotive, 2,000 horsepower • Diesel-electric locomotive, 1,000 horsepower • Class 2-R Mikado steam locomotive • 70-ton covered hopper
• 30-foot all-steel caboose
The AC&Y Railroad is now abandoned through Bluffton and the track is removed. The depot still stands on North Main Street.
