Updating our Swiss family genealogies

Note to Bluffton Forever viewers of Swiss-German descent:

Earlier this week we posted the 41st genealogy column related to persons of the Bluffton-Pandora communities.

This series has a very loyal following. We feel that the material, as presented in a format easy to read and cross reference, has great research value.

However, we are near the end of posting the family material in our collection.

We invite viewers who have family genealogies not part of this collection to contact us.

Reach out to us at: fsteiner@roadrunner.com.

The complete list of columns in this series follows. Please check to see if you have material we’ve not posted.

We also recognized that errors slip into these columns. We'd appreciate hearing from viewers who have corrections to make on specific columns.

INDEX FOR FOREVER BLUFFTON

About Our Swiss Connection During his retirement years, Bluffton Swiss genealogist, the late Herb Probst, created a genealogical overview of the early Swiss settlers in the Bluffton and Pandora communities, which he shared during his lifetime with several area families, who he researched.

Probst’s grandfather, Josef Probst, came from Germany in 1880 and married Elizabeth Suter of this community. On his mother’s side, her father was Solomon Welty and her mother was Barbara Amstutz.
